Joe Bonamassa Jams The Blues At Auditorium In The Roc

11/24/2021 - Rochester, New York - Today, I headed to downtown Rochester, New York to the Auditorium Theatre to see the master blues guitarist Joe Bonamossa perform. I finished work and went online and found a front row ticket available and picked it up literally two hours before the show. I arrived at the theatre early to find large lines waiting to get Covid verified and metal scanned to gain entry. Again, my ticket was literally front row center and Joe Bonamassa and his band hit the stage promptly at 8 PM to play a two hour plus set of blues jams. The show opened with the Welcome Back Kotter theme song as Joe entered and went right into the blues with a jam filled Evil Mama to open. He played a nice cover of Gary Moore's Midnight Blues and a nice jam on Just 'Cos You Can Don't Mean You Should. He was happy to be back home performing and talking of how he is a Utica boy and reminiscing of his start here in Rochester. He also talked of his day stopping at House Of Guitars and his old stomping ground the Dinosaur Barbecue. His band was pretty tight and included two excellent backup singers. He finished the set with The Ballad Of John Henry and came out for a two song encore that included Woke Up Dreaming and finishing with Sloe Gin. A great show sitting front row center watching the blues master jam!Slideshow
