Tedeschi Trucks Band Bring Their Stuff To A Soldout CMAC |

 7/11/2023 - Farmington, New York - Today, on this gorgeous summer evening, I headed down to Cananadiagua Lake to see one of my favorite bands, the Tedeschi Trucks Band, perform at CMAC. I bought an awesome ticket the day of the show below cost on Stubhub.com ten rows back right stage. I left early to grab something to eat and try and beat any traffic issues for this soldout show. I had time and stopped at Kershaw Park on this nice day and took in the pretty views of Canandaigua Lake. I headed to the lot and sat and had my dinner with a couple of nice people in the lot and we traded upcoming show tips. I headed into the venue, grabbing my required RC Cola and sat in the soldout venue in my excellent seat which was also right next to news personality Doug Emblidge. The show opened promptly at 7PM with a really good hour set from Ziggy Marley. He and his band played classic Bob Marley songs like one of my favorites Is This Love and standards like War and Get Up Stand Up. Again a great set and opener for Tedeschi and Trucks who followed after a brief intermission. Tedeschi Trucks Band came out and played a good two hour plus set. They opened the set with a cover of Joe Cocker's Woman To Woman. They played a little bit of everything from their catalog including Anyhow, Yes We Will and a nice version of Midnight In Harlem. The set also included some nice covers like Wet Willie's Keep On Smilin' and closing the set with a jam filled tribute to the late Jeff Beck covering his classic Beck's Bolero. The band was tight as usual and on this night it seemed Susan Tedeschi played a lot of excellent lead although still not matching Derek Trucks awesome slide work. They closed with a two song encore of Susan and keyboardist Gabe Dixon playing I Can't Make You Love Me and closed the show inviting Marley's band out for a jam filled cover of Sly and the Family Stone's Sing A Simple Song / I Wanna Take You Higher.
