George Thorogood Brings Bad All Over The World To NYS Fair |

 8/26/2023 - Syracuse, New York - Today, I headed East down the New York State Thruway to head to the New York State Fair and see the classic rock sounds of George Thorogood & the Destroyers performing at the Suburban Park Stage on the New York State Fairgrounds. The weather was perfect and I left early enough to get to the Fair, grab a decent steak sandwich and even take in a couple exhibits prior to heading to the show. I arrived at the show gates very early and waited in line with a couple hundred people to allow access to GA seating. I managed to get a seat six rows back dead center stage, a most excellent seat for this free show. The show was included with the six dollar Fair admission, a good deal even though it was double from the last time I was here. Thorogood & the Destroyers bring their tour Bad All Over The World which is celebrating 50 Years of Rock. George and drummer, Jeff Simon, are originals from since 1973 and bass player Bill Blough is pratically original joining in 1976. They came out promptly at 8PM and played a good ninety minute set. They opened with Rock Party and went into Bo Diddley's Who Do You Love?. George sounded pretty good and was assisted on guitar by Jim Suhler who played a large amount of lead. They played classics like One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer, Bad To The Bone and one my favorite live songs, Night Time. They finished the quick set with Move It On Over. The very large NYS Fair crowd seemed to thoroughly enjoy the show. The band came out for one encore of Born To Be Bad. George and his bandmates are showing their ages a bit but were still entertaining and sounding pretty good, thanks for 50 years George & The Destroyers, keep rocking.Slideshow | |
