A Last Minute Detour To Metlife Stadium For Bills Jets Game
9/14/2025 - East Rutherford, New Jersey - In a truly last minute decision, we were headed North on 95 this morning leaving Philadelphia, after attending an awesome Clapton show at Xfinity Mobile Arena, heading to East Rutherford, New Jersey's Metlife Stadium to watch our Buffalo Bills take on the New York Jets. We had just left the EC concert last night and decided we were so close that we should go to the game. So, I want on Ticketmaster and picked up a couple good tickets twenty-seven rows up on the ten yard line for a decent price but parking was 85 bucks! We left our hotel in Philly early anticipating possible traffic or parking availability issues but neither was a problem and we got to the stadium early and parked very close to the stadium. We had no tailgate stuff or even Bills gear but we enjoyed the summer like day with sun and temps in the mid to upper 80's and even won some free stuff at the Jets tail gate. We headed into the stadium early and basked in the sunshine drinking plenty of liquids to stay hydrated and watched warmups on this gorgeous day. The crowd had a large amount of Bills fans in attendance and they made their presence known before, during and after the game. The Bills came out and dominated the Jets on both sides of the ball, beating them by a score of 30-10. The highlights included Josh Allen getting knocked out of the game for a few plays with a busted nose, James Cook running for a 132 yards and two touchdowns and the Bills defense shutting down the Jets offense with 4 sacks and a turnover. The game was well in hand and we decided to leave a little early to beat the traffic for our long drive home, a quick and painless drive that took about five and half hours. A great detour Bills trip that ended with the easy victory and was an excellent way to end a perfect weekend.Slideshow[]
Blue Jays & Neil Young At The Bud Stage On Toronto Road Trip
Dr Dirty John Valby Peforms Annual Show At Sold Out Riviera
8/17/2025 - Toronto, Canada - The day started early today driving into Lockport to pickup brother Mike to head north of the border into downtown Toronto for some Toronto Blue Jays baseball and the classic rock of Neil Young in concert at the Budweiser Stage. We crossed the border at Queenston-Lewiston Bridge with no issues. It was a nice day and we drove to Kipling Station on the TTC an took the train into downtown Toronto to avoid CNE traffic. We took the Skywalk from Union Station taking us right to Rogers Centre for the ballgame with red hot Toronto vs Texas Rangers. We had decent tickets and the dome was closed to start the game. The Rangers bats were cranking today and they beat up the Blue Jays 10-4 to avoid a 3 game sweep. They opened the dome during the game which was pretty cool to see as it seemlessly retracts in multiple pieces. After the game, we headed to Trilium Park on Lake Ontario and took in nice views of the Toronto Skyline, the summer flower blooms at the park, planes landing at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and sailboats navigating the lake. A nice August summer day. Soon after we headed to Budeweiser Stage to see Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts perform. We had great seats about sixteen rows back in the sellout crowd. The openers were Astrid Young, Neil Young's half-sister, then Reverend Billy And The Stop Shopping Choir who both were not really that great in my opinion. Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts hit the stage after a brief intermission and played an excellent set on this evening as part of thier Love Earth World Tour. They opened with Ambulance Blues and played a little of everything like Cowgirl In The Sand, Southern Man and Harvest Moon to name a few. The band consisting of Spooner Oldham on organ, Micah Nelson on guitar (Willie's Son), Corey McCormick on bass, and Anthony Logerfo on drums were pretty tight on this evening. They did a good cover of CSNY's Ohio, Buffalo Springfield's Mr. Soul and closed out the set with Old Man. They came out for a two song encore that included a classic This Note's For You that included not singing for Bud to the Budweiser Stage sellout crowd's delight and then closed the show with a nice version of Rockin' In The Free World. A great show that was not as heavy as last years show with Crazy Horse but still very good. We got out late and had a long walk to the TTC station catching the very last train getting to Kiping Station and back home without issue. Another excellent Toronto day.Slideshow[]
2/22/2025 - North Tonawanda, New York - In a last minute decision, I decided to head to downtown North Tonawanda, New York to the lovely Riviera Theatre to see the classic comedy of Dr Dirty, John Valby. I picked up a ticket at the last minute and found a single ticket front row center. This was the forth year in a row for me attending Dr Dirty's show at the Riviera. The show was sold out and started promptly at 7:30 with local comdedian Rob Lederman opening the show the same as last year. Lederman did a half hour set of just okay material and was literally on the clock for the show to make sure he did thirty minutes as they said he was five minutes short last year. After a brief intermission, Dr Dirty hit the stage and although appearing a little frail the eighty year old came out and did a great set of his classic and some new material. He appeared in good spirits and was pretty sharp for most of the set. The sell out Riviera Theatre definitely loved the set. He played alot of classic material and talked of his health issues which have limited his performing saying this was his first performance in months. Again for eighty years old I would say he did an excellent job and told the crowd he was destined to live to 88 years old since he lived his life on the piano 88 keys. He asked the crowd to come see him again next year, I guess I will have to be there, thanks Dr Dirty see you next year.Slideshow[]
Another Flawless Memorial Weekend Letchworth Balloon Launch
9/18/2022 - New York, New York - The day started early, with my brother Mike picking me up for the six hour drive to the Big Apple, New York City, to see the legendary Mr. Slowhand himself, Eric Clapton, perform at Madison Square Garden. It was a nice day and we arrived in New York City early but were held up due to a parade that caught us in a traffic jam for almost two hours. We finally made it to our hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn New York / Midtown Park Ave and checked in. Although late, we were able to change our dinner reservation at Smith & Wollensky and were able to walk there for a delicious steak and lobster dinner. After dinner, we headed back to the hotel and then onto Madison Square Garden for the show. We picked up some shirts and headed to our seats which were excellent seventh row left center stage on the floor. The opener was Jimmie Vaughan who came out promptly at 8 PM and played a good set. Vaughan and his band played some classic tunes that included D/FW, Texas Flood and closing the short set with The Crawl. After a short intermission, Clapton and his band hit the stage and did a great hour and forty minute set. Clapton started the show with God Save The Queen, honoring the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth, and then went directly into jamming Tearing Us Apart. He played a typical set of classics including Key To The Highway, River Of Tears and a nice jam on I Shot The Sheriff. Doyle Bramhall II assisted with lead and rhythm guitar as usual. Clapton went into the acoustic set playing a nice cover of Muddy Water's Honey Bee and JJ Cale's After Midnight along with the standards Layla and Tears In Heaven. The second electric set included a good jam on Badge and closed the set with Cocaine. Eric's voice sounded strong and his guitar work was good, the band was pretty tight. They closed the show with one encore of Joe Cocker's High Time We Went with Paul Carrack on the vocals and also included Clapton being joined by Jimmie Vaughan who jammed a nice solo and Doyle Bramhall II also joining in the jam. Post show we headed down for the late night views of Times Square to close out and excellent day in the Big Apple.Slideshow[]

Sabres Provide Birthday Present Win Over The Visiting Bruins
McCartney Brings One On One Tour To Syracuse Carrier Dome
2/25/2018 - Buffalo, New York - Today to help celebrate my very happy birthday, we headed West down the NYS Thruway and made our way to downtown Buffalo, New York to watch the Buffalo Sabres take on the visiting Boston Bruins at the KeyBank Center. I was lucky enough to receive not one but two sets of free tickets for this birthday game, one from Mike a few days prior and another the next day from Deb who won two seats in a private box. We headed into the arena and watched the Sabres take a 2-0 lead in the first period never being behind the entire game leading to a 4-1 win over the Bruins. Chad Johnson was in the net for the Sabres and Kyle Okposo and Evan Rodrigues added goals in the win. The game also saw my brother-in-law's sister receive a hockey mom honor between periods and get on the big board. Another nice home victory for the Sabres and on my birthday no less, a nice present.Slideshow[]
9/23/2017 - Syracuse, New York - It was a gorgeous hot late September day and we hopped in the car and headed east down NYS Thruway to Syracuse's Carrier Dome to see Sir Paul McCartney perform during his One On One Tour. We left very early for this one due to the Billy Joel traffic jam debacle two years ago. We arrived several hours early and tried to eat at Ruby Tuesdays but the one we went to was closed so we settled for burgers at Johnny Rockets in Destiny Mall. We had no problems getting into the parking lot and were given front row VIP parking for no reason. We jumped on the bus and arrived at the Carrier Dome with plenty of time. We waited for the doors to open and headed into the completely sold out hot sauna like dome. McCartney came out promptly at 8PM and jammed a set containing a little bit of everything. for 3 hours. He opened with A Hard Days Night and played numerous Wings and Beatles tunes. The set included the George tribute of Something, the Quarrymen song that started it all In Spite Of All The Danger, and the explosive Live And Let Die, Eleanor Rigby and And I Love Her to name a few. The typical mega-encore included Helter Skelter, Yesterday, Birthday, and Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight to The End. Another fantastic Sir Paul experience that will never get old for me.Slideshow[]
Enjoying Our Last Day On Maui - Aloha Til Next Time - Part V
4/7/2013 - Maui, Hawaii - Today was our last day on Maui and it started with the final early morning beach walk. We packed up our stuff and toured the Kaanapali Shores grounds one more time before checkout saying goodbye to our scenic views of Maui and taking a few final pictures. We drove to Lahaina and had lunch at one of our new favorite little places Jay's Place. We then hopped back in the car and headed across the island and decided to take a ride up to the top of Mount Haleakala. On our journey up to the peak we saw cows just grazing at about 7000 feet, kind of odd to see. Although it appeared to be cloud covered when we reached Leleiwi Lookout it was a crystal clear view. Absolutely gorgeous views there and at the peak at 10000 feet including above the cloud views. Glad we made the trip the views were worth the drive. We drove down from Haleakala thru the hippie town of Paia and stopping finally at Hookipa Beach to watch some world class windsurfers. We headed back to Kahului and had an late dinner at one of our favorite burger joints Ruby's Diner. We headed back to Kahalui Airport to catch our flight back home from Maui to Los Angeles to Chicago to Buffalo. A very loooong flight which included delays to Chicago and Buffalo making it even longer. A very sad Aloha to Maui until the NEXT TIME..... 1234Slideshow[]

Chillin With The Whales Our Last Days On Maui - Part IV
9/3/2012 - Farmington, New York - Today the Florio's went to Finger Lakes Racetrack for the ninth annual outing of a day at the races for some thoroughbred horse racing action. We squeezed it in on Labor Day just before the start of the school year and it was a nice early September day. We hit the track, where picking winners were hard to come by with Dom and Deb hitting a couple of small winners. The track was packed for a Labor Day kids promotion. Dad took a quick jaunt to the casino and won some nice coin on the Video Poker machines hitting quad queens twice within five hands of each other making a nice profit for the day. The day also included a trip to Eastview Mall for some back to school shopping and a nice dinner at TGI Fridays. A good day to finish off summer.Slideshow[]

This watch was absolutely awesome nonstop whale tails from start to finish and a nice breach which we were lucky enough to capture some pics of. We took literally hundreds of excellent pics and had a great time. After we then went out for an excellent surf and turf dinner at Outback Steakhouse. We then headed back to the condo for what would be our last Maui sunset which was awesome and spent some extra time taking some nice pics with security guy taking some photos for us. After the sunset we headed back to Lahaina for Nicole and Deb to do some last minute shopping and Dom and I hung at Hard Rock Cafe and took in some pretty good live music. Business And Pleasure Abound On Trip To London
10/21/2007 - London, England - Today was the start of a ten day business trip to London, England. The adventure started with a long plane ride from Rochester to Washington DC and onto London. Upon our arrival in the UK my collegues and I journeyed around the city of London. Everywhere in London is a short train ride away via the Tube, London's subway system. Our first stop after getting settled was the original Hard Rock Cafe in London. We then ventured to Abbey Road Studios to make the same walk the Beatles made almost 40 years ago for the Abbey Road album cover. We then journeyed to see Big Ben, Houses of Parliament also known as the Palace of Westminster and other famous London landmarks. Work began soon after with a daily train ride to Harrow Wealdstone to the Kodak plant for long work days. More to come. Part 23Slideshow[]
